Create a leaderboard

You can create a leaderboard for any content you have created. You can create a leaderboard as content in its own right, or you can add a leaderboard to the result page.

Leaderboard setup

  1. Create a Q and publish it.
Note: While you can collect names and emails for leaderboard entries, they are no longer required. You can create arcade-style leaderboards where users only need to enter a nickname.
  2. In the Creator, click on CREATE, select Leaderboard, and click on Create Leaderboard from scratch.
  3. Enter or edit the title in the Enter your title field.
  4. Click on Connect your content here and then CONNECT.
  5. Choose content from the list, using the searchbar if needed, and click on the plus icon.
  6. Click on SAVE & CLOSE.
  7. Click on the minus icon to remove connected content. In the pop-up that appears, click on DELETE to confirm that all associated scores will be removed from the leaderboards.
  8. Publish your leaderboard.
  9. Embed your leaderboard.

Security and privacy settings

You can customize how users participate in your leaderboard:

Disable 2FA verification

For new leaderboards, 2FA (two-factor authentication) is disabled by default, as we found users typically use leaderboards for fun and engagement rather than serious competitions where 2FA is necessary.

  1. Go to Settings and click on Leaderboard: Security / Privacy.
  2. Disable Require OTP verification to allow users to participate without email confirmation.

Remove email requirement

Create an arcade-style leaderboard where users only need to enter a nickname:

  1. Go to Settings and click on Leaderboard: Security / Privacy.
  2. Disable Require email to remove the email mapping.
  3. Users can now participate with just a nickname, and emails won't be required or displayed.

Change the podium colors

  1. Click on the circles on the right of the top three places in the leaderboard.
  2. Select a color or insert a HEX code and click APPLY.
The default colors are gold for first place, silver for second, bronze for third.

Ideas and extra information

  1. Create weekly, monthly, or even ongoing cumulative leaderboards that connect different Qs and motivate your audience to keep playing.
  2. A person's highest score is always the one that's counted on the leaderboard. If someone gets 50 points the first time they play, for example, and then 70 points the second time, the 70 will be on the leaderboard, not 50.
  3. You can play a quiz or predictor multiple times. Only your best result appears on the leaderboard.
