How to Send Quiz Scores to Your CRM With a Webhook

Send quiz scores to your CRM: a quiz result card with a score flowing along a line into a contact record on a laptop

A quiz tells you a lot about a lead: how much they know, which result they got, what they need. That insight is wasted if it sits in the quiz tool while your sales follow-up happens in the CRM. The fix is simple: send quiz scores to your CRM with a webhook, so every completed quiz lands next to the contact record in real time, with the score, the result and the answers.

This guide explains what a quiz webhook sends, how to secure it, and how to connect it to almost any CRM through n8n, Make, Pipedream or Zapier. It uses Qzzr, which is free to start with no time limit, and it is honest about the parts that take a little setup.

The short answer

  • Add a form block to your quiz so each result comes with an email address your CRM can match.
  • Add a webhook in Qzzr under PUBLISH > Save and connect data > Add integrations > Webhook, and paste the URL of your CRM’s inbound endpoint or a middleware tool.
  • Map the fields: the email from the form, the score and maximum score, and the result title go into contact fields in your CRM.
  • Secure and test it with a custom header or the signature key, and use the test lead Qzzr sends before you go live.

Why put quiz scores in your CRM?

A quiz is one of the few lead forms people fill in gladly, because they get something back. A scored quiz or assessment also qualifies the lead while they play. When the score reaches your CRM, you can act on it:

  • Prioritize follow-up. A readiness assessment with a high score is a warmer lead than one with a low score.
  • Segment automatically. The result title (“Beginner”, “Ready to scale”) can set a lifecycle stage, a tag or a pipeline.
  • Personalize the first conversation. The answers to each question tell your team what the lead struggles with before the first call.

Consultants and coaches use exactly this pattern. Our guide to the lead generation quiz for consultants shows how to design the assessment itself.

What the quiz webhook sends

Every completed quiz sends one request to your webhook URL in real time. It is a JSON POST, so anything that accepts HTTP requests can receive it: your own backend, a custom CRM, or a middleware tool. The payload contains:

FieldWhat it holdsTypical CRM use
identifierThe email address from the form block (empty if the quiz has no form)Find or create the contact
result.score and result.maxScoreThe points the person scored and the maximum possibleA number field such as “Quiz score” or a lead score
result.titleThe title of the result page the person sawA tag, segment or lifecycle stage
questionEach question’s title and the answers givenNotes or custom fields for sales
formEach form field with its value and an optional custom ID (for example first_name)Name, company, consent checkbox
uniqueId, qId, createdAtIDs of the lead and the quiz, and the timeAvoid duplicates, know which quiz it came from

Parts your quiz doesn’t have are left out. A plain form has no questions and no result, for example. Personality quizzes add the personality results to the payload, so you can store the winning personality instead of a score.

If you use double opt-in, the request is sent only after the person confirms their email address. That keeps unconfirmed contacts out of your CRM, but it also means a lead who never confirms never arrives.

How to send quiz scores to your CRM, step by step

  1. Build or open your quiz and add a form block with at least an email field. Give the fields custom IDs such as email and first_name, so your mapping doesn’t depend on field order.
  2. Get a URL that receives the data. That is your CRM’s inbound webhook or API endpoint, or a webhook trigger in n8n, Make, Pipedream or Zapier. For a first look, a free test endpoint such as webhook.site shows exactly what arrives.
  3. Add the webhook in Qzzr: PUBLISH > Save and connect data > Add integrations > Webhook > ADD. Paste the URL and, if the receiving side needs a key, add it under Add HTTP headers.
  4. Check the test lead. Qzzr sends one automatically when you continue, and you can resend it with SEND. Use it to map the fields on the CRM side.
  5. Play the published quiz yourself with a new email address and check that the contact, score and result appear in the CRM.

How to secure the webhook

Anyone who knows a webhook URL can send data to it, so the receiving side should check that each request really comes from your quiz. Qzzr gives you two options, and you can combine them:

  • Custom HTTP headers for CRMs and middleware. Add a static key, for example Authorization: Bearer plus your token, or an X-API-Key header. The receiving tool checks it for you, no code needed. Enter the full value, including a prefix such as Bearer.
  • Signature validation for your own backend. Qzzr creates a signature key when you add the webhook and signs every request with HMAC-SHA256 over the raw body. Your code calculates the same signature and rejects anything that doesn’t match. The test leads are signed too, so you can check your code before real leads come in.

Connecting to any CRM with n8n, Make or Zapier

Most small teams don’t write their own receiver. A middleware tool catches the webhook and passes the data on to the CRM.

n8n, Make or Pipedream

In n8n, start a workflow with a Webhook node set to POST and Header auth, then copy its URL into Qzzr and add the same header name and value. Click Listen for test event and resend the test lead from Qzzr. The quiz data appears under body. Add an HTTP Request node, or your CRM’s node, that creates or updates the contact with the email, score and result title. Make and Pipedream work the same way: a webhook trigger, its URL in Qzzr, and the header the tool checks.

Zapier

Qzzr connects to Zapier via webhook. Use Webhooks by Zapier with the Catch Hook trigger and paste its URL into Qzzr. Because the form fields arrive as a list, Zapier can’t reliably pick them by name, so add a short Code by Zapier step that turns them into clean fields by their custom ID. The Qzzr help center has the ready-made script. After that step, the fields are available to any Zapier app, including CRMs such as HubSpot.

If your “CRM” is an email tool

You may not need a webhook at all. Qzzr has native integrations with Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, AWeber, Brevo and Google Drive. The ActiveCampaign integration maps the overall result, the score and the answers straight to custom fields. See quiz makers that integrate with Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign for that setup, and our guide to quiz segmentation for what to do with the tags.

What if the CRM is down?

Leads that can’t be delivered to an integration are not lost. They stay stored in Qzzr and show up under MANAGE LEADS > Failed leads in the main menu. Once you’ve fixed the problem, such as a wrong header or an expired key, click Resend and they go through again. If you’d rather not keep leads in Qzzr at all, there is an option for that too, but then the webhook is your only copy.

Quiz tools that can send scored results to a CRM

Two things decide whether a quiz tool can send quiz scores to your CRM: does it score quizzes on the plan you’re on, and does that plan allow integrations? Here is what the vendors’ own pricing and help pages say:

ToolFree planGetting results into a CRM
QzzrFree forever, 300 completions in total, all featuresWebhook with score, result and answers, also on Free; Zapier via webhook; native Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, AWeber, Brevo
Typeform10 responses/month, no scored quiz modeNative Zapier integration, also on Free
Interact100 completions/month, no integrationsZapier from Lite ($39/month billed monthly); native HubSpot on Pro
OutgrowForms and surveys only; quizzes need a paid planZapier on all plans; standard plans come with one integration
Opinion Stage25 responses/monthZapier on all plans, including Free

What Qzzr doesn’t do

  • No native CRM apps such as HubSpot or Salesforce. CRMs are connected through the webhook, directly or via middleware.
  • No native Zapier app. Zapier works through the webhook and needs the small Code step described above.
  • Qzzr branding stays on every plan. You can add your own logo and footer text.
  • No PDF reports for quiz takers. Send the result by email instead: automated result emails are included, also on the free plan.

When Qzzr Isn’t the Right Fit

If you want a native Zapier app without a Code step, or your quizzes must carry only your own brand, Qzzr is not the best tool for that. Riddle, from the same team, has a native Zapier app and lets you remove its branding on all plans.

Prefer to build in Claude or ChatGPT?

Qzzr’s MCP connector (coming soon) will let you create, edit and publish quizzes by chatting in Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant. Then you can build the assessment in a conversation and add the webhook once and every new lead flows to your CRM.

FAQ

How do I send quiz scores to my CRM?

Add a form block with an email field to your quiz, then add a webhook under PUBLISH, Save and connect data. Point it at your CRM’s inbound endpoint or a tool like n8n or Zapier, and map the email, score and result title to contact fields.

Does the webhook include the score?

Yes. The result part of the payload holds the score, the maximum score and the title of the result page, next to every question with its answers and every form field.

Does Qzzr integrate with HubSpot?

Not natively. You connect HubSpot and other CRMs through the webhook, either directly or via n8n, Make, Pipedream or Zapier.

How do I make sure the data really comes from my quiz?

Add a custom HTTP header with a secret key that your CRM or middleware checks, or verify the HMAC-SHA256 signature Qzzr adds to every request in your own backend.

What happens if a lead can’t be delivered?

It stays stored in Qzzr under Failed leads. Fix the integration, then click Resend.

Is the webhook free?

Yes. Qzzr’s free plan has no time limit and includes all features, the webhook too, with 300 completions in total. Pro costs $9/month, billed monthly, for 1,000 completions per month.

Pick the quiz that brings in the most leads, add the webhook, and play it once with a test address. In a few minutes every new score lands in your CRM, on the free plan.
